Atlas for After Effects
Atlas by Nightoff
Your color map starts here
Preview footage, import your LUTs, and organize your looks in After Effects.
Source-rendered Atlas interface shown with owner-provided media. The preview is owner graded; the visible UI values and default node graph are illustrative and are not a grading recipe or live After Effects capture.
Conversion and creative LUTs
Keep input correction and creative looks in separate controls, then fine-tune the result.
Build a sequence
Arrange selected shots, preview the order, and build an editable sequence at the playhead.

Inside Atlas V1
From selects to editable color.
Atlas keeps footage browsing, LUT organization, sequence building, and practical grading controls together inside After Effects.
Find and preview footage
Bring in project footage or scan a folder. Search, favorite, sort, scrub, mark In and Out points, and compare the original with the graded preview.
Atlas can create an opt-in H.264 preview proxy for media that is too heavy to play reliably in the panel. The source file is still what goes to After Effects.
Build editable After Effects sequences
Arrange marked ranges in an ordered selects list, keep a grade with each select, and build the sequence at the playhead. The resulting layers and grade controls remain editable in After Effects.
Import and organize your own LUTs
Import .cube LUTs, folders, or a supported LUT ZIP into an Atlas-managed library that persists across projects and restarts. Conversion and Creative LUTs stay separate in a fixed order: Conversion LUT, Primary grade, then Creative LUT.
Atlas V1 includes no bundled LUT packs.
Grade with practical controls
Adjust temperature, tint, exposure, contrast, highlights, shadows, whites, blacks, saturation, fade, sharpen, vibrance, look saturation, vignette, and more. Lift, Gamma, Gain, Offset, and Log wheels are also available for panel-side grading.
Supported numeric adjustments can update a linked layer in the Composition viewer. Color-wheel interaction is panel-preview only in V1.
Build Atlas Color node grades
Create editable graphs with Primary and LUT nodes, RGB curves, finishing controls, mixers, and key tools. Reorder, connect, bypass, undo, and transfer advanced grades through the native Atlas Color effect.
The packaged-host test verified a persistent two-LUT native graph. Not every node type has been tested across every codec and bit depth.
Reuse grades and shape the workspace
Save, open, copy, and reuse grades through the Grade Gallery. Overall Intensity and LUT Intensity support editable After Effects keyframes. Atlas also includes scopes, still capture, a persistent audio shelf, resizable docks, and layout backup.
Scopes and Gallery thumbnails are preview tools. Experimental denoise is included as an experimental control, not a production-grade or motion-aware denoiser.
Current validation: The Mac build was tested in After Effects 24.6.8 on one Apple-silicon Mac Studio with selected Sony H.264 and HEVC MP4 footage at 23.976 and 59.94 fps. The Atlas panel preview is an 8-bit, display-referred working view; the After Effects Composition viewer and render are authoritative. Windows is an Early Access Beta with real host validation still in progress. Premiere Pro is not supported.
Future updates
Where Atlas is heading.
Current roadmap areas include:
- Wider camera, codec, frame-rate, and After Effects coverage
- Continued Windows Early Access improvements
- A smoother signed Mac installation and update path
- Deeper grading interaction with the After Effects viewer
- Qualifiers, masks, Power Windows, and tracking
- More advanced native finishing and motion-aware noise reduction
- Research toward a future Premiere Pro workflow
These are development directions, not release-date commitments. Features, platform support, pricing, and timing may change. Future major versions are not included automatically with an Atlas V1 purchase.
